Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills and members of the Pinehurst-Southern Pines Area Association of Realtors recently teamed up on two current housing projects for a Fall Realtors Workday in Southern Pines.
The group of 27 energetic men and women contributed their time to lend a hand in the advancement of the Moore and Jones home projects on Carlisle Street.
The work performed on this latest Fall Realtor Workday, which lasted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., consisted mostly of "finish work" on the two housing projects. The work included painting, caulking, trim work and the overall improvement of the homes to bring them closer to completion, which they were more than successful in achieving.
Buddy Mackey with the Pinehurst-Southern Pines Area Association of Realtors even found time during his day of volunteering to negotiate an offer on a piece of property.
"Due to their hard work and dedication to helping others, we were able to do finish work and also able to get our families into their homes before Christmas," said Judie Wiggins, Habitat's volunteer coordinator.
The Pinehurst-Southern Pines Area Association of Realtors is a long-term supporter of Habitat for Humanity and is a great asset to the community, she added. She said Habitat looks forward to seeing them again at the dedication.
