A wastewater spill of approximately 8,000 gallons has been reported by the town of Robbins.
The discharge occurred on Friday at around 10 a.m., and lasted for almost three hours and 45 minutes, according to a press release.
The untreated wastewater entered a tributary of Bear Creek of the Deep River. The discharge was caused by a blockage in the collection system line.
In a cleanup measure, the tributary was damned up with dirt and approximately 8,000 gallons of water was pumped from the tributary and disposed of at the town's wastewater treatment plant. The tributary was then flushed with potable water.
The press release says that the blockage has been removed from the collection system line.
