The North Moore boys' basketball team turned the tables on its opponent Tuesday.
After slow starts in two lopsided losses in the first two rounds of the Courier-Tribune Christmas Tournament in Asheboro, the North Moore Mustangs started fast against Eastern Randolph and held on for a 55-45 victory in the seventh place game.
Full court defense rattled the Wildcats and helped the Mustangs build a quick 13-5 lead.
The Mustangs pushed the advantage to as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter, before Eastern Randolph stormed back, cutting the margin to 51-43 with less than a minute remaining.
The Mustangs made their free throws in the waning moments and held on to even their record at 6-6.
North Moore's Jonathan Person led all scorers with 16 points, while Antonio Thomas added 11.
The Mustangs will look to continue their conference win streak to three, when they travel to Jordan Matthews (10-1) Friday.
J-M lost in overtime to Trinity in the championship game of the Courier-Tribure Christ-mas Tournament.
