Second Suspect Arrested in S.P. Robbery

A second suspect has been arrested for a robbery that occurred in Southern Pines last October.

Jeremy Shaquan Chavis, 21, of Hoffman, was picked up by Southern Pines police Monday for his alleged role in the robbery that occurred on the evening of Oct. 19, 2008, at West Illinois Avenue in Southern Pines, according to a press release. A Moore County Grand Jury had issued a bill of indictment for Chavis, who was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The other suspect in the case, Anthony Bernard Rogers, was arrested Jan. 26 for the crime that involved the use of a handgun.

Chavis' bond was set at $10,000.
