Stimulus Bill Errs

It is amazing how much of our tax money in President Obama's stimulus package passed by the U.S. House would be used to fund things that run counter to the teachings of our Bible. Take, for example, anti-family programs.

Wendy Wright of Concerned Women for America (CWA) points out in a press release that the $825 billion stimulus package halts funding for abstinence education programs while including $335 million for sexually transmitted disease (STD) education and prevention programs.

She notes that the Centers for Disease Control -- a recipient of STD education funding -- previously has used federal funds for programs that she says "may stimulate some people but not the economy."

For example, the family advocate notes "a transgender beauty pageant in San Francisco that advertised available HIV testing; and events called 'Booty Call' and 'Great Sex' put on by an organization that received nearly $700,000 in government funds."

Then, of course, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stirred up a hornet's nest by promoting the idea of spending millions of dollars on birth control and abortion as part of the economic stimulus package.

"Contraception," argued Pelosi, "will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government." Her comments came on ABC's "This Week" when asked by host George Stephanopoulos how expanding "family-planning services" to the tune of millions of dollars will stimulate the economy.

Our "let's change" president and his party cronies have more concern for jailed terrorists who would kill us at the drop of a hat than they do for the life of a child.

This kind of attitude is why there have been millions of children killed by abortionists and why our children who are left will be in debt forever, thanks to Obama's spending spree.
