New Century Inducts Junior Beta Members

New Century Middle School recently held an induction ceremony for seventh-grade students who qualified for early admission to the Junior Beta Club by earning straight As during the first marking period this year. These students will have a chance to learn about how the Junior Beta Club works from the eighth-grade students so that they can help to lead their club next year.
Students inducted include: Olivia Blue, Celine Bullock, Shannen Burns, Jenna Cavanaugh, Matthew Cooper, Cassidy Fry, Ivan Greisz, Joeanna-Margaret Kelly, Hannah Kiser, Colton Marion, Rachel Nicholson, Ashlyn Owens, Hannah Phillips, Taylor Sharpsten, Michelle Shireman, Jake Strickland, and Michael Talsma.
Eighth-grade officers, President Jacob Phillips and Social Director Samantha Shireman were on hand to help induct these new members, including their siblings, Hannah and Michelle.
"This is really a great motivaton to students," said Christina Speiser, sponsor of the club. "They want to become members of the Beta Club and truly see the benefit of membership."
The Junior Beta Club performs service activities at the school and in the community, and they travel to the state convention each year to compete with students acrosss the state in various academic competitions.
