College Offers Windows Intro Classes

For those with prior computer experience or individuals who have taken the Computing for Beginners class at Sandhills Community College, yet desire to learn more about the basics of the Microsoft operating system, Sandhills is offering a Windows Level I class in XP and Vista, a new class teaching Windows Media Player and another new class on Windows Movie Maker.
"Windows XP Level 1" will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 7 through Feb. 2, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 26 to Feb. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 4 through March 2, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $65 (waived for those 65 or older) plus a $5 tech fee payable by all.
"Windows Vista Level 1" will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 7 through Feb. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 8 through March 3, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.; Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb 10 through March 8, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; and Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 13 through May 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. The registration fee is $65 (waived for those 65 or older) plus a $5 tech fee payable by all.
Gary Krasicky will be teaching a new course, "Windows Media Player," Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 9-25, from 4 to 6 p.m. All must pay for this course.
Another new course taught by Gary Krasicky will be "Windows Movie Maker." It will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 30 through April 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. All must pay for this course.
Courses may require a textbook and flash drive. Instructors will provide details at the first class meeting, or students may pick up a textbook list at the Continuing Education registration desk in Van Dusen Hall or refer to the list on the college's Web site.
