Four Lady Patriots Voted All-Conference

Four members of the 2009 Pinecrest volleyball team have earned All-Southeastern Conference recognition.
Junior Addey George and senior Arielle Fairley received first team honors and senior Paige Horne and freshman Janae Williams are honorable mention selections.
George, an outside hitter, led the team in kills with 283 and was second in digs with 101. Fairley, a defensive specialist, was third in digs with 99.
Horne, a setter, topped the Patriots in three departments, assists, 243, digs, 109 and service aces, 54. Williams was first in blocks, 50, and second in kills, 142, playing the middle blocker position.
Defensive specialist Josephine Yang and middle blocker Whitney Campbell, both of Scotland County, shared conference Player of the Year honors. The Scots' David Barnes was voted Coach of the Year.
Coach Barbara Foxx's Patriots finished third behind Scotland and Richmond Senior in the conference with a record of 7-3. They finished the season with an overall mark of 11-11 after falling 3-1 to Jordan in the first round of the state playoffs.
Other statistical leaders for the Patriots included freshman setter Megan Thomas with 223 assists and 77 digs, junior outside hitter Ashleigh McKenzie with 84 kills and 81 digs and junior Kaitlynn Pritchett and senior Kelly Lovely with 26 service aces each.
Team awards went to Fairley, MVP, Williams, Most Improved, and freshman Felicia Painter, Most Dedicated.
