The Moore County commissioners will elect a chairman at the beginning of their Monday meeting.

Megan Owrey, clerk to the board, will call the meeting to order at 4 p.m. and preside until a chairman is elected, after which the new chairman will take over.

Nick Picerno announced in November that he would not seek a second term as chairman and recommended that the board rotate the chairmanship among the five members.

The board meets in the historic courthouse in Carthage.
