Kitchen and Bath Galleries of Southern Pines has welcomed new designer Brooke-Adrienne Murphy to its staff.

Murphy was a designer in Washington, D.C., and the northern Virg-inia area prior to relocating to Fort Bragg. She was regularly featured in a remodeling magazine in that area, Metro Washington Home Improvement Magazine. Several of her kitchen designs were published, and she served as its kitchen and bath expert on its editorial advisory board.

She has been certified in advanced 20/20 design to better portray what a client's kitchen will look like in 3D, something that is very useful for those clients who have a hard time visualizing what their new space will look like, a news release said. She is also active in AKBD training and is a member of the NKBA.

Murphy said her design approach embraces the idea of designing around each client's lifestyle and that she has a special place in her heart for designing around disabilities.

Kitchen and Bath Galleries will hold an open house to welcome Murphy to its team Thursday, Aug. 27, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in its showroom at 115 E. New Hampshire Ave. in downtown Southern Pines. Wine and hors d'oeuveres will be served.

The showroom is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
