The Pinecrest "Back to School Night" event for all students will be held next Monday.

All parents are invited to attend with their students and encouraged to join the PTSA this year, and local ice cream store owner Ron Schrein, of Coldstone Creamery, is helping with the cause.

Cold Stone Creamery will offer the first 50 new members who join during "Back to School Night" a free scoop of ice cream when presenting the special PTSA coupon.

"Pinecrest PTSA appreciates Cold Stone's support," said PTSA Membership Chairman Trish Parker. "This is the kind of community involvement for which Cold Stone is known."

Additionally, Athletic Director Ernie Purnsley has provided one All-Sport pass for each of the first 40 families who join at the $100 level.

The PTSA is very active at Pinecrest and annually gives three scholarships at the end of each school year. To be eligible, students or their families should be members by Dec. 31.

"We strive to provide our students and faculty with the best and most comprehensive educational opportunities," said Norma Stilwell, current PTSA president. "By choosing any level of membership or donation, you can be assured that you are making a difference in your child's education at Pinecrest."

All freshmen will report to the gym at 5 p.m. All 10th-12th graders will report to the auditorium at 5 p.m. Homeroom lists will be posted on the Web site and around campus.
