Fall sports officially start Monday.

Tennis and volleyball teams from Moore County schools will be in action.

Highlighting a slate of games on Monday is the volleyball match between two area schools.

Union Pines travels to O'Neal for the first regular season volleyball match of the season. The teams will be the first to play in the new gym at O'Neal, which is part of the new on-campus Activities Center. The gym features a larger lobby and concession stand area, more seating, and even has a weight room for student-athletes. The junior varsity match begins at 5:15 p.m. with the varsity match to follow.

Also that night, the Pinecrest Patriots will host Triton.

And in tennis the North Moore Mustangs girls' team will host Albemarle at 4:30 p.m.

The Mustangs volleyball team will open its season Tuesday night when they host Albermarle.
