Cornelia Harrison "Dunk" McCrimmon, 80, of Southern Pines, died peacefullyThursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mrs. McCrimmon was the Moore County tower operator for the N.C. Forestry Service in Southern Pines for over 43 years.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Boles Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Mrs. McCrimmon is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Hicks, of Vass, Ruth Taylor, of Eastwood and Faye McCrimmon, of Southern Pines; two sons, Grady McCrimmon and MitchellMcCrimmon, both of Vass; one brother, Walter McCrimmon of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke McCrimmon, and two sons, Earl and Lester McCrimmon.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
