Sandbox Players, a community-based theater group in Moore County, will hold open auditions for its 2009-2010 season. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17-18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines.
No preparation is necessary as auditions will consist of reading from several scripts. Plays under consideration include Neil Simon's "Last of the Red Hot Lovers," Thornton Wilder's "Our Town," E.R. Gurney's "The Dining Room" and William Inge's "Picnic."
The first production of the season will be directed by Robert Gay and presented in early October. The second production will be directed by Rod Harter and presented in mid-April.
Sandbox Players also seeks technical and backstage crew. Anyone who is interested in that aspect of theater should come to auditions as well.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located in downtown Southern Pines at the intersection of May Street and Massachusetts Avenue. The entrance for auditions is 340 S. Ridge Street.
