A shooting took place in Carolina Lakes this morning, leaving a teenage girl wounded.

The injuries to the girl are not life-threatening, according to Moore County Chief Deputy Neil Godfrey.

Occupants of a car were involved in the shooting, Godfrey said.

The investigation of the shooting is currently under way, Godfrey said, and no other details of the incident are available at this time.

Carolina Lakes is located near Carthage.
