O'Neal Tennis Moves into Second Place

The O'Neal School boys' tennis team moved into second place in the Cape Fear Independent Conference with a 5-4 win over Fayetteville Academy.
The win improved the Falcons to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in conference. Fayetteville Academy is 8-6 overall. The Falcons only losses this season are to conference unbeaten Cape Fear Academy (14-1, 6-0).
Against Fayetteville Academy, the doubles match started With Pantelakos and Godwin (FA) winning over Garrett Klumpar and Evan Davies 8-2, Then O'Neal won the second and third doubles with Austen Hasty and Alex Shore winning a hard-fought match, 8-5, and Corbin O'Donnell and Derek Wold winning their match, 8-3. The teams split the first four singles matches, with the Falcons' O'Donnell and Matthew Friesen winning their matches, while Klumpar and Hasty were on the losing end of their matches.
With the match tied, 4-all, Shore defeated Logan Richardson, 7-5, 6-2, to secure the victory.
