John Linwood Singletary, 79, of Robbins, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. James Stalnaker, the Rev. Clarence Garner and the Rev. Tom Horner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Singletary was a native of Bladen County, and was a retired foreman with Myrick Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Horner Singletary, and a daughter, Joan Singletary.
Surviving are a daughter, Malinda Singletary, of Clayton; grandson, Charles Brian Warrick and wife, Lacey, of Cary; great-granddaughter, Mallory Warrick, of Cary; brother, Talmadge Singletary, of Elizabethtown; sisters, Mirian Bryant, of Elizabethtown, Edna Burnette, of Rocky Mount and Julia Shirey, of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins and other times at the home.
