Jacob Broeils, 73, of Aberdeen, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Broeils was born July 24, 1935, in Monroe, N.Y. He was a veteran of his country and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a charter member of the Men's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War in Southern Pines.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Frances Roland Broeils of Aberdeen; two sons, Jack Douglas Broeils and wife, Kathryn, of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Gary Todd Broeils, of New York; two stepsons, William D. Turner and wife, Cynthia, of Raleigh, and Jim Turner, of Pinehurst; three grandchildren, Allison, Hannah, and Zachary Broeils, all of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a stepgrandson, David Turner of Raleigh; one nephew, Kelvin Broeils.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 26, from 1-2 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst. The visitation will be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Huff officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made the North Carolina Food Bank, 708 Gilbert St., Durham, NC 27701.
