Idea for Library Funds

Have you ever noticed how Southern Pines is always asking us to shop in the beautiful, quaint small town? Here comes the Springfest event with the annual library book day sale. This sale will raise money for the "Friends of the Southern Pines Public Library."

Anyone coming to this event who doesn't live or own property in Southern Pines isn't allowed to use the Southern Pines Library but can buy books April 25, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. If you want to use the library, you must pay a fee of $75 a year.

The library is funded by a Southern Pines town tax and other fundraisers. Maybe letting the rest of Moore County use this library for a small charge per book could help provide funds.
