Donald Edward Bright, 64, of Jackson Springs, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the VA Hospital, Durham.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at 1723 Belford Church Road, Jackson Springs.

Mr. Bright grew up in Gaffney, S.C. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was self-employed as the owner of Shadow Hill Kennels and was a dog trainer.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Hammett Bright; a daughter, Ashley Hammett; a son, Casey Bright; three sisters.
