Belk's Charity Sales have helped to raise millions of dollars for nonprofit organizations throughout the company's 16-state market.
Locally, more than 20 organizations are selling tickets for this season's four-hour shopping event to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2. This is an opportunity for customers to support many worthwhile charities and take advantage of the special discounts offered to ticket holders.
For a $5 donation, customers will receive coupons that will entitle them to discounts ranging from 20 to 50 percent off throughout the store, including savings on rarely discounted merchandise. The donation will be deducted from the first purchase of $5 or more, including cosmetics and fragrances.
Belk Premier card holders will receive double points, and Belk Elite card holders will receive triple points for purchases on their Belk cards during the sale.
All Belk customers will receive $10 in Bonus Bucks for every $50 they spend and will be eligible to register to win a $1,000 Belk shopping spree.
Customers with Belk cards do not need to wait until the morning of May 2, to take advantage of the sale.
Beginning Sunday, April 26, they may make pre-sale selections, which will be available to them during or after the sale.
Tickets may be purchased from one of the participating organizations:
American Association of University Women, Animal Advocates of Moore County, Artists League of the Sandhills, Boys and Girls Club of the Sandhills, Compassionate Friends of the Sandhills, Friends of Moore Guardian ad Litem (GAL), Kiwanis of the Pines, Kennedy Disable Sports, Montgomery Moore Animal Rescue, Miss Moore County Scholarship Association, Moore Humane's Pooch Park in the Pines;
Moore County Shriners/Sand-Ts, Ms. North Carolina Senior America, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), PEO Chapter BY, Pinecrest Choral Program, Sandhills Area Marine Corps League, Sandhills Business and Professional Women (BPW), Sandhills Moore Coalition for Human Care, Union Pines High School, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary -- John Boyd Post.
Many of these groups will be at the Belk store in Pinecrest Plaza selling tickets in the weeks leading up to the event May 2. Tickets may also be purchased at the store the morning of the sale, and the proceeds from the tickets will be divided evenly among the participating organizations.
