A drug investigation by the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics division resulted in the arrest of two individuals Thursday and the seizure of more than a half-pound of marijuana.

Jahmel Joshua Ross, 16, of Vass, and Zatwan Ante Jones, 19, of Aberdeen, were arrested on U.S. 15-501 near Murray Hill Road, according to a press release.

Ross was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, conspiracy to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resist, obstruct and delay. His bail was set at $50,000.

Jones was charged with conspiracy to deliver marijuana and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance. His bail was set at $20,000.

More Charges: Charges continue to mount for a teenager and a Carthage woman who had been arrested earlier for a break-in that involved cracking into a safe.

Timothy Cody Ritter, 17, and Ronda Michelle Jessee, 37, face several drug charges after being arrested by the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics division Friday for selling and delivering marijuana and prescription pills (Lorcet) in the Carthage area, according to a press release.

Jessee was charged with three counts of trafficking opium, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule III controlled substance, selling a schedule III controlled substance and delivering a schedule III controlled substance. Her bail was set at $40,000.

Ritter was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, selling marijuana and delivering marijuana. His bail was set at $50,000.

In late March, Ritter and Jessee were among three suspects arrested after a break-in of a Carthage home in which more than $1,100 of property was stolen.

At that time, Jessee was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property, as well as charges of felony conspiracy, felony safecracking, misdemeanor child abuse and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. At that time, her bail was set at $100,000.

Ritter was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property, as well as charges of felony conspiracy and felony safecracking in the late March case.

He was released from the Moore County jail under a custody release at that time.
