Sarah Younger, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Younger, of Whispering Pines, visited Raleigh recently for an internship she has with North Carolina Women United (NCWU).

The internship is through the communications department at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she is a junior.

She is majoring in communication studies, and is also in the School of Mass Communic-ations working toward a public relations minor.

Younger had lunch with Rep. Jamie Boles, who then showed her around the legislative building, including the House chamber.

"It has been a really exciting day, and I have enjoyed seeing our legislative processes at work," Younger said.

Younger's official schedule ended at 3 p.m., when session convened.

However, she chose to watch the appointment of the 2009 UNC Board of Governors, and the calendared legislation on banning smoking in public places.
