Don't Blame Obama

In the coverage of the TEA party held in Southern Pines, one comment caught my attention: "Elizabeth Poyser, who brought her Boston terrier, Mofa, with her, said she feared for the future of the country under the Obama administration and hoped change was on the horizon."
"It's going to be bankrupt, and it's going to be dangerous if Obama stays there," she said. "I'm upset with everything he stands for. He's dishonest, and he's going to take us down to where we're not going to function. He's a very dangerous person."
President Obama was sworn into office Jan. 20, with TARP funds approved under Bush and checks already in the mail. Those who are so critical of what Obama is attempting to correct, never stepped forward during the Bush administration, which took no action to stem the downward spiral to financial disaster of our entire banking and financial system.
What happened to George's veto pen? President Obama didn't create this economic crisis! Deregulation of banking and our monetary system under George W. Bush did.
How can Ms. Poyser make a statement like "He is a very dangerous person"?
President Obama is attempting to rebuild the trust of our allies and foes alike. After years of bullying other countries to accept our country's moral values, political views, and pertinacious meddling by the CIA, change is on the horizon.
We now have a president willing to shift the course of America by implementing a positive approach to diplomacy, ending two wars he inherited, and reviving an economy that is in shambles.
Perhaps in the next election, votes can change Washington by throwing out the old and bringing new ideas with action in an effort to effect change. Give President Obama a chance. He deserves our support and our prayers.
