The next step in Southern Pines' comprehensive long-range planning process unfolds this week in the form of three community workshops.

Studio Cascade, the Spokane, Wash., consulting firm hired to help develop the plan, has scheduled one workshop for Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Southern Pines Recreation Center and two on Thursday -- one at the Douglass Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and another at the Southern Pines Recreation Center from 7 to 9 p.m.

All three workshops will feature the same content, which focuses on "plan options." Southern Pines residents and those living in the town's extraterritorial jurisdiction are all encouraged to attend.
