Gladys Faye Jones, 65, of Carthage, died Wednesday April 15, 2009, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Lee County, to the late Willie and Flora Ayers.

A funeral service will be held at Rainbow Baptist Church, in Aberdeen, Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Kenneth Wayne Jones officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private in the Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lee County.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ellis Jones Jr., of Carthage; a son, the Rev. Kenneth Wayne Jones and wife, Shelly, of West End; two daughters, Deborah Sue Zell and Tammy Gale Clark and husband, Johnny, all of Carthage; a brother, Bobby Ray Ayers, of Sanford; and two sisters, Kathy Lynn Paxton and Glenda Jean Harris, both of Sanford; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford Saturday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
