The Sandhills Coalition for Human Care will benefit from a Chinese auction scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 27, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church's Parish Hall.
"A Chinese auction is one where items to be auctioned off are put on display with a Chinese take-out container in front of them," says a spokesman. "Bidders take their tickets and place them in any combination of containers they choose. After all tickets are deposited, a winning ticket is randomly drawn from each container. The more tickets an individual puts in a single container, the more likely he/she is to win that particular item.
Admission is $5 and includes 10 auction tickets. Light cuisine, tea and water are included in the admission.
There will be a $1 wine and beer cash bar, and additional auction tickets will be on sale throughout the evening.
Tickets are being sold at the Resale Shops at 1117 Pennsylvania Ave., or the Voit Gilmore Client Services Building at 1500 W. Indiana Ave.
"Please bring all of your friends and let's raise some money for the Coalition," says the spokesman.
Call 246-9845 for more information or see Mary Lynn Goulden, Amy Scheuerman or Jackie Hayter for more details.
