Two individuals were arrested by the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics unit for "doctor shopping."
Lindsay Suzanne Farwell, 25, of West End, and Erik Scot Clayberger, 34, of Southern Pines, were both charged with obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a health care provider, according to a press release.
Farwell is accused of obtaining hydrocodone, a Schedule III controlled substance, from three different physicians between Feb. 10 and Feb. 20. She is accused of intentionally withholding information from the physicians that were prescribing controlled substances for the same reason. She had the prescriptions filled at local pharmacies. She was arrested Tuesday, and released on a written promise to appear in court.
Clayberger is accused of obtaining methodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, by withholding information from two different physicians between Oct. 2, 2008, and Oct. 9, 2008, that were prescribing controlled substances for the same reason. He had the prescriptions filled at local pharmacies. He was arrested Monday, and released on a written promise to appear in court.
