Joseph Darrell Patterson, 75, of Carthage, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his residence.

He was a retired machinist and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Sanders Patterson; a son by a previous marriage, Richard Claude Patterson, of Arizona; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held April 8 at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home. As he wished, a graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Johnson Grove Cemetery.
