First Sgt. Johnnie C. Frye (U.S. Army ret.), 79, of Cameron, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Pines High School, Cameron. Burial follows at Lee Memory Gardens, Sanford.

Survivors include Annie I. Frye; a son, Clifton H. Frye, of Cameron; daughters, Anita Frye Delaine, of Benson, Kathy Frye Peterson and Carol Frye Davis, of Cameron; a sister, Mary McCrimmon, of Vass; a brother, T. Russell Frye, of Ponona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren.
