A public forum on the county budget process will be held at Vass Town Hall tonight at 7 p.m.

County Manager Cary McSwain and Financial Services Director Lisa Hughes will present information on the budget process, including the budget reduction strategies already in place and the targeted budgeting approach. A question and answer session will follow their presentations.

Several county department heads and members of the Local Government 101 class will also attend the forum.

The Vass forum is the second in a series planned by the county administration to explain the 2009-10 budget process to the public. The next forum will be held April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Davis Community Center at Robbins. The first was held April 7 at the Senior Enrichment Center.

Megan Owrey, county public information officer, says the public is encouraged to attend the forum.
