Hole-In-One: Bob Tice, a member of Whispering Pines, scored a hole-in-one on the 158-yard, ninth hole, using his 7-wood. His playing partners were Gene Aleksa, Bill Collier and Tom Harp. He scored his first hole-in-one on the same hole 12 years ago.
Lynne Davison, a member of Pinewild, scored her third hole-in-one on April 5, while playing the 90-yard, 17th hole of the Holly Course. She used her 9-wood and her playing partners were Dee Dee Schmitt, Linda Critzer, and Marilyn Otto.
Bill Emerson, a member of Woodlake, aced the 145-yard fourth hole on April 1. He used his 7-iron to reach the green. This was his second hole-in-one. Witnesses were Gene Frazelle and Charlie Corbin.
Pinewild: The Women's Golf Association played on April 7 in a Team Choke Tournament, in an ABCD format. Scoring was one designated player's net score and one other best net score.
The winning teams were: Judith Kelley, Jan Garber, Louise Pryor, Nancy Reutter, 124 (match of cards); Diane Vosilus, Barb Tencza, Jane Waldemar, Carole Kroes, 124 (match of cards); Carol Pitzer, Janis Tartalio, B. J. Fulcher, Jean Bruff, 127; Jean Grieshaber, Florence Miller, Linda Critzer, Lynne Moore, 128.
Foxfire: The 18-Hole Foxfire Ladies played on April 7-8, in a two-day Spring Ringers Pairs Tournament on the West Course. The format was the best net ball of partners, 90 percent handicap, on Day 1. Day 2 each team tried to better their first-day score on each hole.
Anita Clapp and Linda Ryder scored 60. Carol Harrington and Bertha Christman, tied at 61, with Juanita McCleney and Lucille Cardelle and Barbara Gaimari and Claire Marks. LaVerne Hess and Judy Dickerson, tied at 62, with Betty Gregory and Sue Manley.
Beacon Ridge: The Men's Golf Association played its monthly Ace of Aces tournament on April 8 with the low gross and low net winners qualifying for a Match Play Tournament in October.
Gross Qualifiers -- White Tees: Gary LaRouche, 85; Gold Tees: Colin Swain, 94. Net Qualifiers -- White Tees: Howard Moreau, 69; Gold Tees: Max Foley, 64.
Other Net winners -- White tees, Flight 1: Max Picinich, 72; George Talbot, 73; Manny James, tied at 75, with Ron Dunning. Flight 2: Jan Pollnow, 69; Dennis Kalp, tied at 74, with Dick Osborne. Gold Tees: Bruce Bedder, 66; Bob Allen, 67; Boyd Covault, 68.
The 18-Hole Beacon Ridge Ladies played on April 7 in a one best ball of the threesome contest.
The winners were: Carolyn James, Edna Henrich, Judy Kullberg, 60; Nancy Cunningham, Cindy Osborne and LaVonne Hurd, tied at 61, with Clarice Moreau, Irene Galioto, Marilyn Dumbleton; Mary Lois Teyssier, Ellen Leslie, Blind Draw, 62; Marion Goercke, Lois Dole, Barbara Keiffer, 65.
The Beaconettes played on April 9 and the tournament was one best ball of each pair. Katy Swain and Barbara Mercer, won 3-up, over Sally Terrutty and Linda Talbot. Mary Snead and Pat Wartman, won 2 up against Marcia Witmer and Carol Skau. Barbara Horney and Georgia Pollnow won 2 up against a blind draw.
Southern Pines: The Par Seekers played April 7 in their monthly Member Cup Tournament. The format is net scores only and is divided into flights. Winners were: Flight 1: Ann Kendall tied at 72, with Judy Barrenger. Sharon Hinkle, 76; Pat Billingham, 78; Flight 2: Louise Pierce, 65; Cathy Murphy, 66; Flight 3: Billie Joyce Hill, 73; Jenny Stuber, 77; Pat Hoffman, 79.

Midland: The Men's Golf Association played a Nassau Tournament on April 8 and the format was two best balls of the foursome.
Overall winners for 18 holes were Bob Mellinger, Harvey Koonce, Walter Scheyett and Maury Finnegan at 124. Harvey Koonce won low gross with 81. Jack Henderson won the 9-Hole Skins game on hole Nos. 3 and 6.
Whispering Pines: The Pinettes played on April 7, in foursomes, and the format was one best ball on holes 1 to 6, two on holes 7 to 12 and three on holes 13 to 18. The game was on the West Course with everyone playing the red tees.
The winners are as follows: Sue Brammer, Doris Lanning, Susan Jaehne and Joyce Reitler, 126; Debbie McCormick, Alice Sheridan, Betty Winslow and Mary Jane Barth, 128; Helen Gibbons, Marge Tovey, Gladys Wade and Sandra Armstrong, 130 (match of cards); Hope Dugenske, Judy Woodward, Joan Gillis, Susan Leary, 130 (match of cards).
The Men's Golf Association played on April 8 in a 1-2-3 format. The results were: Lennie Mills, Mac McCormack, Pat O'Malley, Bob Tice, 123; Tony Pisacane, Tony Grose, Gil Hohwald, Frank Carrara, 124; Junior Jones, Felix DeMasi, Bill Saylor, 125.
Sunday Supper Golf was played on April 5, with 92 golfers participating on the East Course in a four-person scramble.
The winners were: Chuck and Isabelle Daley with Gary and Marie Hughart, 53; Rich and Helen Gibbons with Rick and Lucy Price, 55; Jerry and Karen Lewis with Tom and Sallie Daughtrey, 55; Ron and Lucy Saylor with Oscar and Joan Bell, 56; Paul and Sandra Hallet with Bill and Gladys Wade, 55.
National: The Men's Day results for April 4 are as follows: Stableford: Kelly Collins, +10; Mike Fiske, +2; Hank Roofe, Steve Dougherty and Bob Knorr each had +1. Skins: Steve Dougherty, 4; Hank Roofe, 3; Dave Dunn, 2; Kelly Collins, Rick Zimmerman, Dick Tilley and Tom Lorenz, one each. Foursomes: In a three net balls of the team, first place went to Mike Fiske, Tom Lorenz, Jim Arnold and Jim Blank, 203.
Whispering Woods: The Men's Golf Association played on April 3 and the format was two low net scores on par 3 holes and one low net ball on par 4 and par 5 holes.
Ken Pomeroy, Tom Nagele, Tony Rodriquez and Al Gaeta, tied at 68, with Bill Anderson, Joe Haas, Bud Henty and a Blind Draw.
On April 6 in a team low net event, with two low nets needed for scoring, the winning team was Phil Scalia, Gaylord Maines, Charlie Brady, and a Blind Draw.
On April 8 an Easter Tourney was played with individual low gross and low net scores plus closest to the pin on three holes. The winners: Flight 1: Gross Ernest Rizzi, 83; Steve Luckhaus, 84; Bill Woodruff, 87. Net Joe Matejka, 67; Don Smedley, 71; Phil Scalia, 71. Flight 2: Gross Tom Nagel, 94; Jim Willard, 97, Bud Henty 98. Net Carl Williams, 73; Joe Haas, 73; John Hamm, 76.
Closest to the pin on No. 2 was Bill Woodruff, on No. 6 it was Ken Pomeroy and No. 11 Charlie Brady was the winner.
Pinehurst: The Birdies played on Course No. 1 on April 6 and the game was two best balls on holes 1 to 4, one best ball on 5 to 9, two best balls on 10 to 13 and 1 best ball on 14 to 18. Flighted groups in ABCD format.
The winners: Flight A: Mary Green, Myrna Floyd, Brenda Thomas, Bonnie Dingman, 94. Flight B: Karen Fox Cook, Sheryl Robinson, Sue Smith, Pat Milligan, 98. Flight D: Nora Sinclair, Joyce Riedell, Margaret Cropley, 100.
Birdies were recorded by Donna Tanner on holes 11 and 17, Bonnie Dingmann on No. 11, Denise Frobey and Jackie Meyer on No. 17 and Tonya Brown on No. 2.
The Silver Foils played on April 7 in two best balls on the front and one best ball on the back contest.
The winners: Nancy Geddes, Kay Monteith, Jane Smith, 93; Irene Corbin, Ann Nash, Mary Ann Mills, Dee Bilodeau, 97; Marge Swinarton, Jean Conry and Paulette Clayton, tied at 99, with Dee Cregan, Ro Kachel, Mary Scott Arnold and Gay Griffith.
The Chippers played on Course No. 1 on April 8 in an Odd Holes Only Tournament. The winners were Sandra MacQueen, 17; Kadie Hergenrother, 18; Peg Schirmer, 19.
