So The Pilot has set a new precedent. At least I'm assuming so after noting its April 8 print version front page with a tribute to "UNC's Crowning Win." In case you didn't see it, The Pilot's title used a pastel, UNC-inspired color with the mention of its championship.

Furthermore, there is an unattributed editorial in that edition titled "UNC's Crowning Win." I know that there are certain persons at this fine newspaper who have ties to UNC, but I don't want to speculate about the author's identity. My point is, as an Appalachian State graduate, I look forward to seeing the print edition of The Pilot dedicated to a championship if my in-state alma mater is fortunate to win another in the future.

Just to push my point home, I'm glad that my hometown, local newspaper has taken more of a state focus and will be recognizing all of our great state's national championships, complete with a collectible edition of The Pilot and an editorial dedicated to its success.
