Newly formed Premier Destination Partners (PDP) will provide expert destination guidance for meeting event planners and sales support for select properties.
While providing these services, PDP has included in its business model the commitment to return a share of proceeds to hospitality industry scholarships and conservation funds, the company said in a news release.
With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Premier Destination Partners President Steffen Sheerin said planners and property partners will benefit from PDP's business strategy to enhance market presence and services for its clients.
Sheerin has both sales and operations experience in a wide range of destinations including Chicago's Palmer House, Chicago Hilton, Stouffer Riviere (Ill.), The Brown Hotel (Ky.), Sheraton (Ga.) and Marriott (N.Y.), The Greenbrier (W. Va.) and Pinehurst Resort.
While strained business levels have caused properties to reduce sales manpower, Premier Destination Partners can offer their partners a cost-effective way to enhance sales efforts in targeted markets, a news release said. Many properties have been affected by the downturn and many companies are revaluating their meetings.
"Our approach will target primary markets and existing PDP customers to produce new opportunities for our partners," Sheerin said. "Our strategy with partner properties is deliberate and focused on premier hotels, resorts, clubs and unique venues."
PDP will engage partnerships with properties within a regional scope and other strategic resort destinations.
Sheerin said he has consulted with clients involving a wide range of events including executive retreats, continuing medical education programs, association meetings, incentive groups, nonprofit organizations, sales kickoffs, training sessions, product launches and social groups.
PDP can provide assistance with all facets of arranging a group program. This includes destination options, comparisons, costing, on/off property recreation, unique dining options, and special assistance.
"Our industry has various channels and choices on how our business is conducted, but it all comes down to providing superior service, resources and expertise to our customers," Sheerin said."
