The Moore County Community Foundation (MCCF) is offering two free workshops to interested nonprofits to assist grant writers in submitting applications for funding.

On Wednesday, April 15, a workshop will be held noon and 5 p.m. at Sandhills Community College in Room 102 in Van Dusen Hall at 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst.

The workshops are held in advance of the MCCF grant application availability for nonprofits to apply for funding.

The purpose of the workshop is to explain the application, the grants cycle, and to answer questions from the nonprofit representatives.

Since its establishment in 1993, the Moore County Community Fund has made grants to organizations that support human services, education, health, arts, religion, civic affairs, and the conservation and preservation of historical, cultural and environmental resources.

"This year, more than ever, we are aware of the critical needs of our community," said Hugh Bingham, president of the Moore County Community Foundation Board.

"We want to work with the nonprofits in our county to navigate their way through the grant application and turn in complete descriptions of their projects, so our board can give them thoughtful consideration."

Space is limited and participants are urged to call Mary Anne Howard at the North Carolina Community Foundation at 1-800-201-9533 or e-mail mhoward@nccommunityfoundation.org to reserve a seat.

The Moore County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

The NCCF is the single statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and was created 21 years ago to build capacity through philanthropy.

The NCCF sustains nearly 1,000 endowment funds established to provide

long-term support of a broad range of community needs, nonprofit organizations and scholarships. The NCCF partners with 59 affiliate foundations to provide local resource allocation and community assistance in 65 counties across the state, with an emphasis on rural and underserved areas.
