Billed as "an incredible evening of gourmet food, premium wines and more," the Arts Council of Moore County will present the inaugural "Artful Chefs" event Sunday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Campbell House.

A limited number of tickets are available at $65 per person, of which $30 is tax-deductible. Tickets may be purchased from the Arts Council of Moore County at the Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines), or by calling (910) 692-4356.

The "Artful Chefs" will feature gourmet foods and wines showcased in each room of the Campbell House prepared by some extraordinary local chefs: Scott Wolcott of Wolcott's Restaurant, in Southern Pines; Mark Elliott of Elliott's on Linden, in Pinehurst; Ashley Van Camp, of Ashten's, in Southern Pines, and Steve Grasso of the Broad Street Bakery, in Southern Pines.

The "Artful Chefs" event will benefit the Classical Concert Series, which has become one of North Carolina's most respected chamber music series. Presented at the Sunrise Theater, past artists have included the Emerson String Quartet, Eroica Trio, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble, violinist Chee-Yun, Beaux Arts Trio, flutist Ransom Wilson, and the Empire Brass.

The 2009-2010 Classical Concert Series will feature Miles Hoffman and the American Chamber Players, the New Century Saxophone Quartet, pianist Wonny Song, and the Tokyo String Quartet.
