Cold Weather Due Tuesday Evening

Today's breezy day with temperatures in the mid-60s is going to be followed by a bit of a cold spell, according to the National Weather Service in Raleigh.

There is still a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, while the wind is expected to blow between 18 or 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

A chance of showers continues tonight, with a low around 39. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent, with wind gusts still present, going as high as 28 mph.

Tuesday, it's going to be cloudy, with a high near 52 and wind still a factor, as gusts from the west might reach as high as 30 mph. Then the cold weather rolls in, as the forecast calls for the temperatures to reach just the high-20s on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday is supposed to bring the sun back, with temperatures expected to climb back up into the high-50s, while dropping down into the upper-30s on Wednesday evening.

Thursday, spring returns, at least according to the forecast, with temperatures expected to reach a high of near 70 on a mostly sunny day.
