SANDHILLS BEST BETS: Community Club Holds Yard Sale This Saturday

Jackson Springs Community Club will hold a yard sale on Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the club house located at 447 Mill Road, Jackson Springs.
Items for sale will be household item, clothing, face painting, and food to include sausage biscuits, hot dogs, snacks, soft drinks, coffee.
All funds raised are used to help members of the community when needs arise.
Gospel Brunch
The Omicron Omega Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. will be hosting "Experience Spiritual Praise," a fundraising gospel brunch, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Moore County Cooperative Extension Building, 707 Pinehurst Avenue, Carthage.
The event will feature a full brunch and the musical offerings of local church choirs and gospel groups. This event is being held to raise money for the chapter's local scholarship and community service initiatives, including programming on the topics of economic development, health, and education.
Omicron Omega Omega is a graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Originating in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American women and was founded to provide service to all mankind.

NAMI Meeting
The NAMI-Moore County's educational and support meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the FirstHealth Conference Center located on the corner of Page Road and N.C. 211 in Pinehurst. This is the annual membership meeting where the budget is approved, new board members presented, and the annual Bob Best Award is presented to the 2009 recipients.
There will also be a "job fair" held for individuals to see all that NAMI-MC does throughout Moore County and the various opportunities for involvement through volunteering.
NAMI-MC is made up entirely of volunteers and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for those with a brain illness and their families.

Egg Hunt
The Village Chapel Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4, from 10-11:30 a.m. in Chapel Hall for children through fifth grade. Visit with the Easter bunny, face-painting and candy.
The church is located on N.C. 2, Pinehurst.
Rummage Sale
The Women of the Pines will hold their annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Old West End Gym, N.C. 211.
Available will be clothing, shoes and purses, household items, linens, books, small applicances, furniture, costume and estate jewelry.
Chili Cook-Off
The second annual Seven Lakes Business Guild Chili Cook-off will be held at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the corner of Trade and Grant streets next to Master Kleen.
