PHS Girls' Soccer Blasts Westover

The Pinecrest girls romped to a 10-0 victory in a girls' soccer game played at the John Williams Athletic Complex on Wednesday.

Eight different players scored the goals as the Patriots won their sixth match in a row. They improved to 6-0 in the Mid-Southeastern Conference and 7-3 overall while Westover dropped to 0-6 and 0-8.

Bailey Pages and Lauren Corrigan each scored twice for the home team. Others finding the back of the net were Sarah Dejak, Lyndsey Anderson, Kate Hieronymus, Rachel Dokich, Beth Hieronymus and Keegan Cary. Dokich (2), Anderson, Pages and Antonia Meyers were credited with assists.

Pinecrest will complete the first half of league play with a 7 p.m. home match against Seventy-First on Monday.

Conference standings: Pinecrest 6-0, Scotland County 5-1, Jack Britt 5-1, Hoke County 3-3, Richmond Senior 3-3, Seventy-First 2-4, Douglas Byrd 0-6, Westover 0-6.
