Hole-In-One: Jim Belford, a member of Pinewild, scored his first hole-in-one Feb. 16 while playing the 180-yard third hole of the Magnolia Course. He used his 5-wood to reach the green. His playing partners were Frank Grimone and John Flack.

Mike Schurr, a member of Beacon Ridge, scored his third hole-in-one March 30. He used his 5-iron on the 182-yard seventh hole. His playing partners were Gerry Buelow, Doug Leslie and Colin Swaine.

Pinewild: The Women's Golf Association played an individual gross and net contest March 31. The winners were:

Pinehurst: The Women's Golf Association played a game using one best ball on holes 1 to 6, two best balls on holes 7 to 12 and three best balls on holes 13 to 18. The winners are as follows:

The Silver Foils played March 31 for the Cappelletti Cup. The low gross winners were Debbie Smith at 84, followed by Mary O'Malley and Diane McCall at 84.

Three players tied at net 67 had a sudden death playoff, with Marge Swinarton winning on the second hole.

Whispering Pines: The Men's Golf Association played April 1 in a scramble format. The winners were:

Len Mills, Dick Mills, Chub Nintzel and Pat O'Malley, 63; George Venet, Art Woodward, Bill Stripling and Roger Williams, 65; Don MacIlvaine, Mac McCormack and Tom McKeon, and Rich Gibbons, Paul Hallet, Dick Hammond and Gil Hohwald tied at 66.

The Ninettes played March 30 on the front nine of the West Course in game called "Most Eights." The winners were:

Flight 1 -- Barbara Carlson had two, and Pat Linss had one.

Flight 2 -- Dee Heine had three, Val Flahie had two.

Dee Heine chipped in on hole 9.

The Pinettes played the red tees on the West Course March 31. The format was blind nine, with the holes chosen by the committee.

Whispering Woods: The Ladies Golf Association played a captain's choice March 31, and the winning team was Carol Carlson, Gerry Scalia and Janet Wood with a 73.

The Ladies Golf Association is open to players who are not members of Whispering Woods. It offers organized play every Tuesday, plus additional tournaments. For more information, call the Pro Shop at 949-4653.

The Men's Golf Association played April 1, and the game was two low net scores on par-3 holes, one low net on par-4s and par-5s. The winning team was Blake Hetterich, Al Gaeta, Ernest Rizzi and Tony Rodriquez with 66.

On March 30, the game was low net of each foursome. The winners were Bill Crump, Joe Matejka, Tom Nagele and Don Smedley, 52; and Bill Anderson, Rich Moran, Jim Willard and a blind draw, 53.

On April 1, the game was "Man in ihe Box," and the winning team was Charlie Brady, John Hamm, Bud Henty and Al Gaeta.

Woodlake: The Ladies Golf Association played April 2 in a par-4 only event played on the Palmer Course. Angie Forge scored 39 to take first place. Pat Bickoff was second with a 40 by a match of cards over Barb McCleneghen.

Lynn Ball birdied hole 16. Brenda Tillman chipped in on 3 and Pat Scoggins on 2.

In an April Fools' contest, the pro-shop selected four holes, with Cherie Shiels carding 12, and Lynn Ball and Darla Howe tied at 14.

The Niners played a "Big Waltz" tournament March 30, and the winners were Bev Lawson, a blind draw and Pat Brennan, 63; Doris Munguia, Cheri Shiels and Marbaret Corbin, 71; Pat Hruska, Jeanne Hunkele and Sheila Essom, 73.

Beacon Ridge: Pat Wartman was the winner of the Ladies Golf Association Beacon Cup, low net tournament, March 31. Other winners were:

Flight 1 -- LaVonne Hurd, 64; Judy Kullberg, 67; Lois Ashley and Hilde Krallinger, 70.

Flight 2 -- Karen Milligan, 67; Joyce Loney. 68; Cindy Osborne and Nancy Cunningham tied at 70.

Flight 2 -- Jean Keating and Kathy Goodman, 65; Nancy Sabo and Peg Woodard, 66; Margaret Arning and Lucy Dunn Martin, and Marilyn Quintana and Lois Newsham tied at 73.

Southern Pines: The Par Seekers played a Spring Fling tournament using two best balls of the foursome. The teams of Joan McCreedy, Ginger Addis and Jenny Stuber; Louise Pierce, Pat Black and Pat Hoffman; and Cathy Murphy, Rosemary Goodrich and Milli Johnson all tied at 120. A blind draw was used for each team. Pat Billingham, Sue McMullan, Penny Burke and Eileen Malan had 123.
