The members of Magnolia Chapter No. 26, Order of the Eastern Star, Southern Pines, extend deep sympathy to the families of the residents and the nurse who died in the shooting rampage at the Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage on March 29.

It was, indeed, a tragedy. The victims are, and will continue to be, in the thoughts and prayers of the Eastern Star members. They are also ready to assist the families in meeting their needs.

The members also salute and honor police officer Justin Garner, who was wounded, for the very professional manner in which he performed his duties. They thank him for that and pray for his safety as he recovers and continues protecting the residents of Carthage, and perhaps other communities in Moore County.
