A local entrepreneur, Chad McGlothlin, owner of Moore County Comfort Keepers, was recently chosen as a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Chamber of Commerce.
Comfort Keepers, a growing international franchise offering in-home care services for aging adults and others needing assistance, allows seniors to live in their own homes independently.
Comfort Keepers provides in-home assistance, such as cooking nutritious meals, light housekeeping, running errands, medication reminders, and assistance bathing. McGlothlin has owned Moore County Comfort Keepers for four years.
McGlothlin received the honor in recognition of his innovation, successful response to challenges and active involvement in the community.
"Comfort Keepers is very fortunate to have Chad as an owner," said Jim Booth, CEO of Comfort Keepers. "His hard work, tenacity, and commitment to his clients truly deserve to be recognized and applauded. Chad is a true inspiration for dedication and care to all Comfort Keepers employees and caregivers."
McGlothlin said he learned much from his own grandparents and feels that working with seniors in the home-care field provides an excellent opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Besides going to great lengths to ensure quality care for his customers, he also gives attention to the changing needs of his valued employees to show them how much they are appreciated, the company said in a news release.
"I am truly honored to be chosen as a finalist for this award," McGlothlin said. "I take pride in the type of service I provide to my clients. Many times, a Comfort Keeper caregiver becomes almost like a family member. There is often a genuine emotional attachment."
