Thursday nights in April will be devoted to sessions focusing on understanding grief and loss following the tragedy at Pinelake Center.
Brginning tonight, sessions will be held each Thursday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Carthage. They are open to everyone.
John Benton, director of the Moore County Department of Social Services, made arrangements for the meetings, which will be facilitated by representatives from Sandhills Mental Health Center and partnering agencies. Speakers will include law enforcement personnel, elected officials and representatives of the faith community and other community entities.
The announcement says that this is "not a forum to discuss the events that have taken place but to provide a catalyst toward healing." Anyone needing additional assistance is advised to call the crisis hot-line at 1-800-256-2452.
