The local Sandhills Chapter of SCORE (Counselors to America's Small Business) continues its free series at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with its popular Marketing seminar.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants can pre-register by calling 695-3938.
All seminars in the series are held in room 203 of Van Dusen Hall on the Sandhills Community College campus.
SCORE and the Small Business Center of Sandhills Community College jointly sponsor this "Business Basics" series of six consecutive seminars that are valuable for every entrepreneur. The third seminar, "How to Write a Business Plan," is scheduled for this Saturday.
The marketing seminar, straight from the trenches of real American business experience, brings participants marketing savvy that they can apply to their businesses immediately, a spokesman said. Many of the tips cost very little or even nothing to implement, yet they have been proven to be very effective.
Sales are clearly the lifeblood of a business, and SCORE wants to show attendees a better way to increase sales through creative marketing techniques, the spokesman said.
The local SCORE Chapter has 20 active members and is dedicated to assisting small businesses through free and confidential counseling as well as offering free professional seminars. The chapter is currently expanding these activities and is seeking additional motivated volunteers.
More information on SCORE's counseling activity and a complete description of each seminar can be found at the Sandhills SCORE Web site, www.sandhillsscore.org.
