The first week of the football pick'em contest is in the books, and I, as predicted, was horrible. Seven correct selections was good for middle of the pack against nearly 50 folks who entered.

Before we get to the picks this week, let me clear up a few things about week one.

First, remember we are picking all the games in the NFL. Some of you missed out this week by missing the games not listed on the advertisements. Some of the games are listed below the ads. The remainder of games are listed on the clipboard below the entry blank with the heading "Additional Games."

Please list the winners for the corresponding ads on the lines provided on the entry blank. The winners of the additional games should be listed on the corresponding lines numbered 1 through 7.

Checks for the weekly winners (top three places) will be mailed out at the end of the month. Now to my picks:

Atlanta over the Chiefs, Bears over Bucs, Pats over Dolphins, Titans over Texans, Niners over Lions, Skins over Cards, Bills over Raiders, Giants over Bengals, Vikings over Panthers (total points of 40), Rams over Seahawks, Broncos over Saints, Colts over Jags, Packers over Cowboys, Eagles over Steelers, Browns over Ravens and Chargers over Jets.
