The Moore County Kennel Club will offer a pet microchipping clinic Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday, Sept. 14, during the club's annual dog show at the Harness Track in Pinehurst.
"To increase the chance that lost pets can be reunited with their owners, the MCKC is providing pet owners with a unique way to ID their pets for life," says a spokesman. "Local veterinarians will be donating their time as a public service for pet owners in the community."
Hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. The cost is $20.
"Each year eight to ten million dogs and cats are lost and most cannot be returned because they do not have any form of ID," says the spokesman.
AKC Companion Animal Recovery (AKC-CAR) is the largest direct-to-owner pet recovery service in the United States.
