Carolina Storage Centers (CSC) will open a new climate-controlled self-storage center on U.S. 1 in Vass.

CSC, which also manages Carolina Self-Storage in Southern Pines, is converting the old Whisper Knits facility on the corner of Grant Road and U.S. 1 South, next door to Transit Damaged Freight.

The first phase of the 40,000-square-foot project is scheduled to open late this month. Phase 1 will convert the existing 23,000-square-foot building to provide state-of-the-art security including a 24/7 keypad entry gate, digitally recorded camera surveillance, individual unit alarms and full perimeter fencing.

The center will have a full time on-site manager and retail area for packing and moving supplies.

The new storage center will offer self-storage, records storage, mobile storage and RV and boat parking. The center will also be an authorized U-Haul truck rental agent, an authorized AmeriGas propane pumping station and a UPS agent.

"At Carolina Storage Centers we understand that we are in a service business," said CEO Alyce Lee. "That's why, in addition to offering quality secure self-storage, we also offer our customers a variety of related services. We will accept deliveries, rent mail boxes, provide a fax, rent trucks, pump propane, pack and ship packages, store records or provide mobile storage. We have a quality competitive solution for every storage or moving need."
