The Pinecrest girls finished fifth in the NCHSAA 4-A state golf championship that wound up at Pinehurst No. 1 Tuesday afternoon.

Defending champion Northwest Guilford and first-day leader Grimsley finished four strokes back to tie for second place. The team results are made up of the total strokes of the three lowest scoring players on the team.
