It has taken six weeks, but we finally had our first tie.

This week's winners are David McKinnon of Carthage and Dorothy Maag of Pinehurst. Both selected 12 games correctly and both missed the tiebreaker by two points.

I consulted the venerable Hunter Chase as to what to do in a tiebreaker situation.

His answer: write both names on a piece of paper, put them in a hat and have a beautiful woman pick the winner. So I did.

The winner was McKinnon. Maag finishes second and Velma Davis of Carthage, who missed the tiebreaker by three points, is third.

Since we ran out of space in Sunday's paper, below is the list of the totals for contest participants through the first six weeks of the competition. Remember, seven weeks to go.

Contestants with the three highest totals each week win prizes, and the person with the highest total at the end of the contest wins $200.
