Muriel Hutchison Vose Kibbey, 75, of Pinehurst, died October 16, 2008, in Roseville, Calif.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Congregational Church of Pinehurst at a date to be announced.

She was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Huntington, W.Va., a graduate of Huntington High School and Northwestern University Dental School, Department of Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene in West Virginia and California for 30 years and served as West Virginia State Dental Hygiene Association president. In her "retirement" years, she worked a number of years as a real estate broker in Pinehurst and environs.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Gordon Ludlow Kibbey of Pinehurst; sons, Mark Montague Vose and wife, Suzanne, and their children, Ashby and Jackson, all of Roseville, Calif.; Christopher Steven Vose, of Burbank, Calif. Their father was Charles S. Vose Jr. to whom she was married for 24 years. Stepchildren, Patrice Kibbey McAdam and her husband, Paul, and their children, Kristy and Matthew, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Richard Kibbey and wife, Karen, and their son, Jesse, of Lansing, Mich., also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Edward and Dorothy Christine Hutchison, a beloved mother-in-law, Johnnie Montague Vose, a favored aunt, Mabel V. Reeder and a lifelong friend, Glenna VanHoose Shore, all of Huntington, W.Va.

Memorials may be made to the Sandhills Children's Center, 1280 Central Dr., Southern Pines, NC, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
